Over the years, I have worked with many clients who have gone on a diet and managed to lose weight however many of them then went on to put the weight back on a few months later. Others, dieted religiously, but simply failed to lose weight. In spite of exercising and watching what they ate, they were still unable to shift any weight.
The more I looked at the research, the more I realised what they were up against. I saw that stress plays a huge part in how capable and easily we are able to lose weight and maintain weight loss. My approach has now changed. I look at lifestyle choices and use different methods.
Obesity is becoming a huge problem around the world, and it is clear that there is more to the whole issue than just dieting and exercise. Unless we approach this subject in a holistic manner and involve the mind too, then it is unlikely that we can achieve weight loss consistently and long term.
